Spain Bike Trip – Day 2: Train from Madrid to Barcelona

I’ve been in Spain for a couple days now. Both hostels I’ve stayed at have been very nice. Last night I stayed at a place called Fabrizzio’s Petit, a very small hostel which made it very easy to meet people. I found a pretty awesome crew right away.

We went out and really just got some alcohol at the supermarket and then walked around with it. We showed the Dutch guy how to shotgun a beer and then we stopped at an Asian restaurant for potstickers. We stayed out just talking until about 2am and then finally went to sleep

Today I’ve been looking around for bike stuff and realizing it might be easier to get everything I need than I thought. I could pretty much buy everything at decathlon for about 500 euros if need be. But I’d rather have a kid carrier than bags hanging on the bike. I’m not sure if all my stuff would fit in the bags. Hopefully I can get started tomorrow but I guess we will see. The tents were really cheap at decathlon so I will get one, but I plan more to stay at hostels and such along the way. If I finish the ride quick enough I will look into biking into Portugal too

Spain Bike Trip – Day 1: Deciding to Travel by Bike

I flew into Madrid yesterday and really had no clue what I was going to do. I walked around and explored some of the old buildings and then I happened to walk by a bike shop. I went in and looked at the bikes and I realized just how easy I could figure out some kind of bike trip. I really don’t know yet how I’ll do it but I’m taking the train right now to Barcelona and I’ll try to snag a bike there and something to carry my stuff and it should be alright from there. My only concern is that I’m carrying quite a bit of valuable stuff, so I’m going to feel like I can’t leave my things even for a moment.
